INDUSTRIAL SECTOR OF CASTILLA-LA MANCHA PROMOTES ITSELF IN ROMANIA

Date

Through its Foreign Trade and Investment Institute (IPEX), the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha is promoting group participation by companies from the industrial goods sector in the Direct Trade Mission to Romaniawhich will take place from 12 to 16 September 2022.

Romania is one of the most important countries in Eastern Europe. It is the second largest in terms of surface area and population, and the third largest in terms of GDP among the newest members of the European Union.

It owns deposits of natural gas, oil and other mineral resources. Significant gas deposits are being discovered in its territorial waters of the Black Sea and Romania is expected to become a net exporter of this resource to the rest of the region.

The Romanian economy was not among those hit hardest by the financial crisis and is recovering relatively quickly from the COVID crisis. The industrial sector in the country currently accounts for over 20% of national GDP and is heavily influenced by trends in the industrial sector elsewhere in Europe.

Exports from Castilla-La Mancha to Romania amounted to a total of 53.7 million euros in 2021, which was an increase of 10% on exports from the region in 2020. Per industrial heading, it is worth noting the increased exports of vehicles and vehicle parts and accessories, and articles of iron, steel and aluminium.

The IPEX has organised several trade missions for industrial sectors to Romania in order to support companies in their market research efforts aimed at finding business opportunities and promoting their products, etc.

In partnership with the Regional Branch of ICEX in Castilla-La Mancha and the Spanish Trade Delegation in Romania, the IPEX has organised a webinar on 8 June to present the current situation in the Romanian market with a special focus on the business opportunities it presents for industrial sectors.

The deadline for registration will remain open until 30 June and the event is designed for a maximum of seven companies. Participating companies will benefit from a tailored schedule of meetings in Bucharest and other cities throughout Romania.

Once the project is complete, financial aid will be granted to cover 60% of the justified expenses for consultancy on the organisation of meetings, travel and accommodation for one person per company up to a maximum of 978 euros.
